97 850 headlight lens question

Small but to me important question.

I removed both headlight lenses to remove the front slam panel so I could replace the RH headlight wiper motor and while the headlamp on that side was out I would replace the holed lens glass cover.

What I found was that one of the headlights was missing 2 of the glass retaining clips and the other only one. But interestingly both were missing the clip on the outer edge closest to the turn signal. Does anyone have a headlight kicking around or happen to know if there should be a clip on that edge? I have spares so replacing it is no issue, but don't want to fit one in case it causes a problem either with the fitting of the sidelight lens or some other issue.

The above link would suggest there is one but as it is OEM rather than OE, is this correct. I am talking of the RH side of the lens in the picture (the vertical side).

I doubt both would be missing the same clip. I'll take a peek at mine later.

For what it's worth, my 98 v70 has clips on that edge but is missing others at random locations. Don't think it matters as long as the seal is intact.

Just checked the 97 I am dismantling. These would be factory lenses, almost certainly never came off. Three clips across the top, one on the slope to the inside of the grill, none on the edge to the corner light. Same for both headlights. I didn't check the clips on the bottom edge.

Thanks guys. Erik again got the answer I needed, but thanks to all others for input.

It is weird that the headlights don't seem to have the clip on the side by the turn signals. Maybe it can interfere with the turn signal when adjusting as it does sit very close?
