Transmission? grinding noise when coming to a stop

Maybe not throw parts at it before you know what the problem is?

Anyway, there's been quite a few posts about this kind of problem... I also get a grinding/growling noise when coming to a stop, though only when my brakes are warm/hot. Also see these:

does it happen only when hot?

trans downshift soleinoid issue

just fixed mine with new rebuilt valve body

This may be what's going on with my '93 240. Only when I'm at the very last bit of a stop does it make the noise. Also I can feel it clearly through the brake pedal. The noise is a groaning sound like a pump kicking on or something, and kind of a 'boing' noise when I feel the pedal bounce.

I love my car but I have no car knowledge (which is probably obvious already)...

Your brakes are probably worn to nothing. Take it in ASAP.
