740 wheel pushed back to far to align ??

Post by gbm97 »

Hi I dropped off my 91 740 to have struts rotors pads installed.
Its a long weekend, mechanic left a message saying may not be able to do alignment properly because one of the wheels is 'pushed back'. Huh??
Said tires may wear uneven.

Not sure what he meant & won't until Tuesday morning when he reopens the shop to find out.

Any ideas on what the mechanic may of meant? There has never been any incidents where the wheel has been harmed, and were not wearing uneven previously. If I say go ahead fix my Volvo anyway regardless of tire wear how bad may the tire wear be and the driveability safety factor be?
Thanks

Hi 93Regina
Yes they changed them as well as a lot of other front end parts.
Spent $1,654 on the front end as well as new shocks springs for the back costing another $735.
Obviously I am not well, but I like my Volvo.
What a nice ride it gives now.
Thanks
