Hi guys can an earlier s40 v40 engine be fitted to a 1.8 2005 s40 engine code b4184s11 I want to fit engine with code b4184s2

No, I personally would not try it- just to many variables including how the engine mounts, not even going to the incompatible computer in the newer car with the older style, etc...

I dont think it would fit. Cause 2005 and pre 2004 models are very different.

+1 more of a pain in the butt than it's worth.

It's theoretically possible, by swapping over all the sensors and whatnot, and sometimes you have to weld/drill new hardpoints.

Fundamentally it'll be the same engine, but many many details will have incompatibly changed.

I've rebuilt engine but it has a huge drop in power when it gets hot any ideas please it's had new valves and stem seals and rings fitted as it was down on compression on cylinder 1 due to a broken valve and it was using oil I'm stumped I've cleaned egr but no difference new plugs air filter oil ect it sounds great and runs fine till temp hits half way then it feels like your towing the titanic behind you :(

As per my last post engine been rebuilt but this problem is there now any ideas please I'm stumped
