Thermostat replacement on heated seats.

where did you get or buy the new thermostat?

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, been away on the high seas!
The thermostats I got were from the scrap yard, I found that some of the seats were torn and the thermostat was sitting in plain site, so I grabbed a few.

I like Mikes approach of attacking the replacement from below, the only advice is do not tear the foam

Tailor - Did you have to unplug the battery when removing the seat? Is it fairly easy to disconnect cables & remove the seat? A few bolts. Is there an area that could be difficult in this process, or require some special tool & equipment?

The two wires going to the thermostat under my driver's seat are broken off at the clips, and I don't know which one hooks to which clip.

You don't have to remove anything. you can change them by reaching up under the seat and just pulling the thermostat out the foam hole, disconnect, and replace. Takes 2 mins.

Not a problem - It’s just a switch,
it’s not polarity sensitive.
Either one to either one.
