My car just started vibrating under the dash when I start accelerating from a stop. It only lasts a second, but it is pretty loud and pretty annoying! Does anyone know what this could be. It is only happens between about 2-5 mph and it doesn't sound too horribly bad, but it doesn't sound good either. Just a very quick rattling, or vibration.
Thanks, Chad

Check your upper engine mount for decay. Move the engine by hand to get an idea if it's gone or still ok. See my how-to for replacement technique (linked off Main page).

I checked the engine mount and it looked good. I shook the engine by hand and it seemed very stable.. I noticed it about a week ago, when the car was cold and it was a cooler morning. I haven't heard it for about a week. I heard it again this morning with the weather being a little cooler. It sounds like it's something vibrating in my glove box, but it's not, only in that area. I am getting the transmission serviced today, it needs it badly. Could it have something to do with this?
Thanks, Chad

If the car's going to be on a lift, have them check the lower engine mounts. There's 2 or 3 of them...
... could be the transmission too.

That thread is 13 years old. Very likely the OP doesn't have that car anymore.
Check for engine mounts. But could also be something loose in the dash.
