I have a completely batshit crazy idea that I need some input on. Last year my beloved 850 turbo wagon was caught in a tornado and received some body damage that appeared minor but m insurance totaled it and revoked the option for a salvage title. Everything mechanical and electrical is in working order. I am basically looking for a parts vehicle that is a shell or has a trashed engine. I would like to put the guts of my 850 turbo into another turbo or non-turbo wagon. My question to you is can I put my 850 engine (and all of its components) into a V70? I ask this because my area seems to have a lot more V70s available that are parts cars than 850s.
Thanks, -Z

You can only do it with a 98 V70 Turbo as a direct "drop-in" if you use the fuel rail/pressure regulator/injectors off the V70.
99 and up have VVT. N/A, just no, too much wiring work.

Hypothetically if I bought an empty shell, are the interior components compatible as well? Seat, dashboard, headliner...etc?tryingbe wrote:You can only do it with a 98 V70 Turbo as a direct "drop-in" if you use the fuel rail/pressure regulator/injectors off the V70.

Most of the interior is different. The 850 stuff will not swap straight across into the V70. OK the headliner may, front seats you can make work, dashboard possibly with modification. I have read of a couple a V70 dashes put into 850s.
