Crusher. If it were turbo, I'd save it with an engine swap.

Another burnt valve, #2.

Car was purchased about 12 months ago with 117,000. Burnt the valve today with 128,500.
- Since purchased, full synthetic oil.
- Only premium fuel.
- Driven modestly, mostly around town, no reverse on the transmission.
- Old plugs, Volvo, currently warn and gap is about 0.038.
- PCV done around 118,000.
- Compression: 172 - 0 - 173 - na - na

1999 V70 XC. My friends car. Was driving on a level road on a 7 mile trip. No other codes.

burnt exhaust valve in #3 bought the car like that, 98 s70 t5m, lots of white/yellowish corrosion on all exhaust valves, had to get it off with a wire brush, sent the injectors off for cleaning should be back soon with before and after flow reports

This video explains how my car was maintained prior to a #4 cylinder exhaust valve burning. To my knowledge the engine has never been opened. Has good compression (except #4), and still has the original cam seals.

362,775 Miles
Exhaust valve #4
Traveling through the hills of WV
Doing about 70 mph
91+ Octane
Leaking valve stem seals (about 1 quart per 1000 miles)
