Post by bullet79 »

Hi guys..
i just bought a 940GLE B230FT 3 days ago.. the only driving experience i had is when bringing the car home from where i got it... and now it wont start.. it cranks but just wont start..
"classic Volvo experience".

but first.. i just need to know what is ecu types.. the only thing i know its is later 1997/98 940GLE turbo model ..
right-hand drive (correct side )
with OBD2 16pin style socket at the Ebrake..
i already diy my obd-LED tester and it gives 232 - at pin 3
and 111 - at pin 1

anybody can help me with the ecu's specs.. i just dont know what or where to look for this..

232 appears to be lambda control (O2 sensor) fuel trim too lean or rich at idle.
111 indicates no fault.

The VIN is a puzzle. It shows year of manufacture as 1991.

Open up passenger-side side-panel...and maybe look up around steering wheel. If two boxes, most likely Jetronic.

Volvo would sometimes ship different ignition/fuel setups to different countries. I think this is related to how strict emission law was in a county.
