94 850 Keep losing all electricity

I lose the radio first then everything- even the hazard lights- it usually comes back in a couple of seconds- I tried it with the six month old battery out of my wifes car and no difference- I will make up some new cables after I get the steering rack into the wife's v70

Was the ignition switch new or a JY replacement?
Are you monitoring voltage while driving?
Maybe a dying accessory overload relay?
( 105 and/or 106 ? )

I'm just trying to figure out if your system is losing
power gradually or dropping out all at once.

And before you start replacing cables,
run some voltage drop tests.

Brand new Volvo part- in the bag- laying in my stash of parts for a couple of years but new

I missed the hazard lights...
That means constant power is dropping out.
I agree with checking all main cables, but again,
start with some metering before you begin tearing
things down. It may be an easier, cheaper fix.

And keeping an eye on your voltage levels is never
a bad idea when your having electrical problems.
You can tie in a DMM through the accessory connector
or just pick it up at the cig lighter with a plug.
