I hate to even title this, b/c I don't know what the problem is. Hate being treated as though I'm an idiot... Had my 2011 C70 for a year. Already regret it, well, not the car, but the fact that we have 2 dealerships in St. Louis, one of which is reviewed as actively cheating customers and the other where I feel as though I am doing a younger, female Rodney Dangerfield stand-up every time I go in (not getting respect). I had to take it in numerous times previously when I told them that it had developed a noise. They finally found a broken strut. I took it in a few months ago after the steering wheel started turning n my hands (maybe 4") occasionally when I stop at a light or stop sign. I thought maybe I needed a front end alignment. Of course, they didn't find a thing and claim to have checked "everything." There are zero details on the receipt as to what they checked, and they wouldn't tell me what they checked when I asked. The car didn't do it for the first 10 months of ownership. I have Michelin tires, I don't want them to wear unevenly, let alone be stuck by the side of the road somewhere because these guys, yet again, didn't take me seriously. I have a service plan so I'm not worried about expense. Is it time to take it elsewhere? Thanks.

Sorry for taking a month to get back to you, but this sounds vaguely familiar.
My 97 850 would yank the wheel when I switched between go and whoa. Twist one way when I hit the brake, stay that way until I went for the gas again. I found that if I took my hands off the wheel and let it twist, the car would actually stay straight.
It turned out to be bad control arms. One bushing was squishing out of the bolt's way, allowing the arm to cock off at an odd angle when the direction of load changed.
Search the forums, this one and others, for references of local independent Volvo specialists.
