Dice drivers

Post by cyberwolph »

Could someone zip me up a copy of the dice drivers for vida 2010? Ive just about at had it with re installing drivers and VMs for 2 days trying to communicate with this unit. FYI, I have fresh win 7 32bit, Vida 2014D and vida opens just fine just wont communicate. I dont know if the old drivers will help or not but I have searched so much and found out that if the dice unit I have has some old firmware on it that it "possibly" wont load the drivers correctly because the firmware doesnt know what to do with it. I cant read what firmware is on it since I cant communicate with the unit. Any help would be awesome!

I don't have 2010, so I can't directly help.

One thing I can suggest is that with 2014, you should find something on your start menu "DiCE->DiCE Diagnostic". It will do basic communications checking and will tell you your firmware version. See if this works. It is a small standalone app, and it takes the browser out of the picture.

I have read that it is easy to brick your DiCE attempting to do firmware updates. I don't know the details - if you decide to try, do some reading first.

Let me toss another thing out there - in the event the standalone diagnostic works, then it is likely that the problem is how you are using the browser.

When I use VIDA with success, I *ALWAYS* use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 8. I hear IE9 also works, but I have not tested it. I know that IE 10 and above does not. And for me, the 64-bit IE browser simply doesn't work because it cannot load the 32-bit DICE drivers.

I don't know about FireFox/Chrome or any other browsers - I have only used IE.

Perhaps there are some cases where there are 64-bit DiCE drivers which work. I don't know - I haven't spent much time investigating.
