S70 headlights
Replaced headlight wiring harnesses due to age and heat deterioration. Now headlights do not work. Corner amber lights work. Turn signals work. Fuses and relay look ok. All electrical connections rechecked and ok. High beams flash when I pull the left stalk on steering stalk. Any ideas?

The next logical place would be the headlight relay. How bad did the old harness melt? Bad enough that it shorted out?

I would pull the wiring connector off the low beam bulb, and hook up a test light to the positive wire to see if you actually have 12v going to it. If you do, then I'd suspect the relay.

Be careful you don't cut yourself on Occam's razor......crlande wrote:Maybe both low beam bulbs are burned out.

I'd start with a meter on the low beam fuses with the key on
and the headlight switch turned up to the 12:000 position.
Locations 21 & 22. Check the two nubs in the top of each
fuse while it's still in place. They should be hot at both ends.
If you have power getting through the fuses, check the stuff
that you touched before you start shotgunning other things.
9 times out of 10, if it worked before you got in there,
something happened where you were servicing the vehicle.
Is there voltage on pin 2 of the 4 pin headlight connectors?
Where'd the new harness's come from? New or used?
Did you confirm that all the wires line up pin for pin at the connectors?
Do they meter out pin for pin?
Do the headlights work if you put the old harness's back?
Here's a visual:
