My 98 S70 T5 has an exhaust leak at one of the junctions downstream from the CAT. The bolts are practically disintegrated and not lose.

What should I do? I circled where it is leaking from. It is not a huge leak but slightly noticeable and I put the car on ramps and confirmed it was at the junction. Oh and thanks!

A few years ago, same thing happened to me (common problem, search forum and you will see), went to muffler shop.
About $60 later, I am happy.
There is no other solution other than a visit to the local muffler shop.

Do I tell them to weld it the brackets in place or do they remove them?

Or possibly weld a sleeve, assuming they have enough room

I have had this fixed a few times now. They have always been able to put a sleeve on. Make sure you go to "Joe's Muffler" not some chain store, I just let them decide what to do.

They will remove the rusted section, maybe about 4-5 inches or so.
Then use a new sleeve and weld it in.

If you are in the GTA, L&G Exhaust Specialists in Markham does good exhaust work for a reasonable price.

Ok thanks. I'm on the west end so in the past I used to go to Zoro muffler in Mississauga. They have been good but in case they play the safety card appreciate any recommendations west Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville

Thanks guys, got it fixed, they cut out the junction and welded in a sleeve. I'm glad as the replacement exhausts are typically crap even though they warranted them for life they make their money charging labour to replace them.
Cost $80
