Accident in my '98 V70

Let's see. I paid 1000 to replace a fender on my V70 10 years ago at a cheap body shop for a driveway accident involving no othe r cars and no engine. ( Dont ask)

So... what happened?

Well, assuming that no frame is bent, and that the "slam panel" isn't messed up, the hood, fender and bumper are all matters of bolt-on, bolt off. Going on the fact that OP is here, asking about fixing stuff himself, I'm assuming he's a DIY guy. After bolting on new pieces, there's either the cost of paint, or the cost of having them painted. I don't see how that would be 4000 dollars +?

He can buy the parts car for $500,remove what he needs from it and sell the rest of it.If he have some luck he can find it in the same colour.

$4000+ for this kind of damage...maybe if "experts" from "stealership" would repair it.With their sick prices...it could be even more than $4000+.

We are cofusing getting it back on the road with fixing it professionally.

For insurance purposes, the cost of professional repair is the issue - which will total this car.

It could probably be fixed in Ukraine for a page of first class stamps.

That damage really isn't bad. Yes, insurance will probably total the car, but I would fix it.

I'm in this car for a total of probably less than you would pay for one in similar condition that didn't need a light restoration like this. So, don't tell me it was a waste because "it's only a GLT..."
It probably would have been totaled, but I don't know what the situation was with the last owner's insurance. I've only put about 2,000 miles on the car, but it's solid. I've been all around under this car, and I can say it's structurally sound. Definitely check out your own car, because every situation is different, but I'm just leaving this for comparison.
You should be able to get her back up and running quickly and for cheap. Find a parts car, these S/V70s are floating around everywhere for less than $500.

That is a nice color, though! This would be the third I've seen... first being @obayha's old T5 (hood is finally painted to match my car!), and an S70 on CL now.

I replaced everything. Airbags and seatbelts were replaced (seatbelts have that pyrotechnic tensioner, so they have to be replaced) along with lots of parts in the front end. I also had to patch some ECU/TCU wires and fix a connector, which had broken and left me busting my you-know-what for months trying to find why my transmission was in limp mode.
Fender, hood, grille, bumper cover (just recently replaced this... I was waiting for a nice black one in the junkyard), fan, fan shroud, radiator, intercooler, a/c condensor, steering wheel airbag, dash pad w/ airbag, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things. I also added in a couple extra parts that the car didn't have before, like the fender marker lights, XC grille, and fog lights. A fellow North Carolinian MVS member luckily had most of these parts from his old V70 that I bought off him. Sped up the process tremendously, which is why I would recommend buying a parts car if you don't have these parts readily available (like someone parting one out).
I've tried my best to get everything right, and with the help of my dad I think we've got this car as near perfect as possible after the wreck. Just doing the rest of the stage 0 stuff now until I can start getting some more power out of it .

OP; keep in mind the direction of force of the accident. yes your car came in straight ahead, but the crossing force is what can really mess you up here. To really evaluate the car for "home" repair, strip away the sheetmetal so you can see the frame structure on the right hand side. I agree with the assessment that you have an odd camber issue on the RH side. That doesn't mean it can't be fixed, but it means lights and new tin won't make it right. User bmdubya has done an extensive rebuild of the front of his car, find and follow his thread. Your car does have the cache" of being AWD. But emotion and practicality are separate animals. The parts car suggestion can also be, find an AWD, XC, or R to cross your good parts to. If you fix your car, and S70 or V70 should work for most items.

I cannot get the hood open now so I'm kind of stuck. Although I could install the new Silverstar Ultras on her without having the hood open, couldn't I? Another question: what bulb do I get for her bright lights?

You need a new hood anyway, right? Bust out the angle grinder. Wear your safety glasses.

I tend to agree that it's probably best to spend $0 until you know what's hiding under that hood. That your coolant system has not pissed itself dry suggests the damage didn't go as far back as the radiator, so there's hope, but there's no predictable failure mode for smashing a car into another car. You have to inspect the damage before you know if the car will be worth fixing, and until you do it's going to be hard to plan well.
