Bad distributor?

Hi guys,

I have a no-start situation, and as I go down the list of things to check, I see that my distributor looks like this:

It's a (pretty much) brand new Bosch; there is a part of the middle terminal missing, am I right? I'm sure this isn't helping with the starting issues lol. Not sure what would have caused this...I'm reassembling after a valve job btw, so it could have been due to that as well...

That is indeed broken. It might actually run but it will run poorly.

I had the coil wire come unplugged at the coil and the car still ran by arcing about 1/2" from the coil to the wire, I couldn't believe it.

Broken or someone forgot the spring in the rotor contact?

Is there a piece of rotor contact down in the distributor?

One edit - -forgot its sideways - maybe now down it the engine.

Picked up a quick replacement from Poop Boys to get it started...and it did. Now to contact FCP for a return...
