Brake light switch

In the last 2 weeks the brake lights keep sticking on. Put some lubricant on the white plunger coming out of brake switch -- not any good. Noticed that the brake pedal is not coming up all the way -- maybe 1/16 inch. Seems that a bushing where the pedal pivots might be worn. Anyone ever have this problem? Thanks
