Oh I'm aware my company probably wouldn't fire me for that issue, I'd just see if Cali would let me use it as leverage for a conditional pass.abscate wrote:If your company fires you for your car not passing smog, you will be buying new Volvos the rest of your life.
You have to have access to a working vehicle - a rental, a loaner all these would fit the definition of your employment condition.
Look at the document that dynbin (?) posted - I think he made reference that there is a CARB ruling that non-ready monitors on Volvos can be ignored pre 1999?
I created a whole separate thread on this as I thought it might be important to CA guys...
My model is 2001, sadly, and I stress sadly... That CARB ruling is bunko for me. 2000 and older is only allowed evap to not be set.
I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being an info leach here, I go to school at night and I'm a family man with a single income family. Most of my time and money is spoken for, that's why this thread has gone on for so long! As I'm a baby do it yourselfer, my info search skills are limited to my limited, limitedness.
Thanks a lot for the responses btw. Much appreciated.
