1999 C70 Cabriolet 140K miles
My right trailing arm has 2 upper bolts. One looks to have been replaced with a shorter bolt that has no top flange.
How dangerous is this? I do notice some mild vibration. that's what led me to look at it. I am scheduled for an alignment in 3 days. Should I replace this bolt 1st?
I have had it aligned 4 times in the last 4 years. None of the 'techs' ever mentioned this bolt to me.
Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
Problem?trailing arm bushing bolt/ anchor arm bushing bolt

Does it hold the alignment? It is tough to tell from the picture but it looks like the bolt, without a washer, may allow the trailing arm to have some play. That point is the alignment point for the rear.
My guess is that the alignment shop broke the bolt on one of the alignment attempts and shoved in whatever bolt they had laying around.

Thanks Lee,
I was pretty sure it was an alignment adjustment bolt, that should have the same bolt with the flange/washer, as the other bolt, but I wanted some confirmation. I just bought the bolt and nut from my local dealer. Hopefully it will co-operate and come out easily.
Then to Volvo for alignment. Hopefully they are better at alignment then Sears and the other inept, break stuff and hide it, 'tire changers' in my area.
I'll check my book(in garage) tomorrow but do you know if there is a torque spec on that bolt?
