buying advice for 2002 V70 2.4T wagon

The thing you find - a red 2001 T5 with a trashed ECM for $700!. Pretty car,but apparently, somebody tried to jump start it and scrambled the programming.... I don't know if I want to take this one, but I'd be happy to send the contact information. It's West of Winston Salem, NC.

I visited 3 states, eventually found my volvo....right down the street. hahah

My 2001 XC70 has a great transmission and so does my 2001 T5. Only the T5s rival an 855R for acceleration.

2002 model turbos went to a Bosch throttle usually with no dramas.

Ask the mechanic if the trans was acting up. Tell them the deal is subject to a good transmission. Also ask them about PCV history and whether the engine has excessive crankcase pressure. They are giving you a car with lots of recent maintenance; you just need to have some clauses to the agreement.
