I love my 2005 9.5/10 for the quiet ride and gas mileage.
The 1999 makes up for it with that amazing seat

More parts = more point of failures.beigg wrote:Why are the 01+ body styles so attractive yet high maintenance? It's like a hot super model that has a white castle diet. Looks good..... the mess, horrible mess!

Well, luckily this is not powertrain and drivetrain. 01 transmissions aside, I don't think powertrain and drivetrain is where any increased maintenance comes from.beigg wrote:If it's aftermarket supported with flash software for 100% changes, I'd first start with dtc scanning and proceed to check voltage and amperage areas within the vehicles system. Then if needed, run the built in module tests from the software accounting it would have such features as most I am familiar with contain it.tryingbe wrote:When this happens, what are you going to do?beigg wrote:
Can't most of those "1"s be addresed with a pcm flash in the event the need for scheduled I/M is not required?
I thought the 2002+ had the ability for real time tuning/mapping?

Chances are that posters issue is alternator or battery (soon to be both) if that is happening to them out of random.
As an aside: if you have ideas what is going on over there, how about help out the OP with suggestions?

Looks like a few suggestions were given that matched my thoughts. Didn't feel my .02 was warranted.

In 5 years time most of you will be in a P2 or move to another Euro.....the inevitability of time.
By the way once you drive a P2 as a daily driver you will not want to go back to a P80
