The growling/howling noise you've previously mentioned points to wheel bearings. As noted above, that type of repeated treatment is very hard on them.

They don't howl, they sort of make a very subtle growl. None of my friends can hear or feel it. My thoughts were that the cv axle is ready to be replaced anyhow due to the fact that its aftermarket and 6+ years old. If the axle doesn't fix it then I'll do the bearings. Its a tough call. The noises would indicate bearings but when its up on jacks and I spin the wheels there is no indication of bearing trouble.

I could definitely hear FR WB growl when doing S-turns. Heard nothing when jacked up and spun as you describe. However, when I finally removed it and held it, was very very loose and easily manipulated by hand! Rather amazed.

S turns will definitely tell you a bearing is bad and which one. On both of my Front wheel bearings ( FWB) they felt
Iike new ones. They are so overbuilt on these cars they have to be loaded to hear wear.
