Hollow "roar", with slight vibration, varying intensity, seemingly on drivers side of engine compartment presents upon takeoff at around 2300 rpm then calms down after trans shifts but never goes away. Wife calls the car woo-woo because that's what it sounds like! 112,000 miles, trans mount and all engine mounts replaced except front one (and it's ordered). I thought it had to be the plastic intake air pipe because the sound is hollow, but it seems to be ok.
Any ideas? I've searched but not seen a post describing this particular problem.
