No fan blowing to floor 1997 850 Sedan
So after a gig on a cold night I started my trusty 850 to warm up and load equipment. When I moved the vent selector to floor it was a little tough - I gave it a little muscle and heard something snap - no fan blowing to the floor. All the other vents/defrost work but nothing on the floor. Any suggestions to fix this? It is still cold in MN and I like to feel my toes

Sounds like you have MCC....cable controlled distribution of heat and air flow.
That bit of muscle was something breaking in the linkage, of course.
I'll try to find the MCC diagram and link

I know this is an old post now but after getting snow tires on my 850 (in preparation for ice racing with SCCA) I have been driving this car more often. Snow tires are great and I should get some for my C30. Anyway, with driving this car more I am getting cold toes. I took everything off on the passenger side and just broke the black plastic shaft. Do I need to take the driver's side dash apart to get at whatever I need to turn to get heat to the floor?
This is manual control as stated above. Do I need to suck it up, find a heated garage (or any garage not in the wind) and take my dash apart? Or can I get at it from the lower part of the driver's side dash below the steering wheel?
Thank you, in advance! I know this is an old post.
