1998 T-5 throttle body gasket, same for turbo and NA, confirmed

Post by charleskennedy23 »

Hi friends,

I have a '98 T-5 v70 and am about to clean the Throttle body. I picked up a gasket from o'Reilly and it is for the 2.4 liter engine which is the N/A engine. I know the turbo TB is different from the NA TB, but is the gasket different? I looked on FCP and noticed that the NA and turbo TB gaskets have the same part number which leads me to believe that even though the TB's are different the gasket is the same. Can some let me know if the gaskets are in fact the same?

Thank you for your help.

Yes they are the same. The NA throttle body will have a perfect fit in the opening, the turbo throttle body will have inner metal exposed.

The difference is the actual size difference between the two. That is why some people change to the NA throttle body as a mod for more intake air flow.

Thanks guys! Robert I believe you talk about the that particular mod in your video which is why I wanted to make sure there weren't two different gaskets.

you guys are awesome!
