Radio wire issue - blue wire for the power antenna

You know about the antenna amp? I know the '04s use one, it may be supplied power by the factory HU. If you experience poor radio reception post install you'll want to look into this. If it's like the '06 it wants 10v filtered and regulated via a separate wire integrated into the antenna plug at the back of the factory HU. 12v (direct connection to that blue wire) won't work it's designed for 10v and draws in the neighborhood of 80mA.
Most people would probably be better ignore the factory antenna/ install their own, either a shark fin or something hidden under the bumper fascia or inside the rear window. No PNP solution to *properly supply clean 10v* to the factory antenna amp exists to my knowledge. It can be done but if you have to ask how it's not likely to be something you should mess with. I would not recommend simply adding an in-line resistor as I read somebody (on another site) did.
