From the annual service they highlighted that BOTH the horns had failed. Must be crap quality as my recently departed 97 850 worked fine at 20 years of age. What surprised me is that both had failed. Is this a common failure on a P2 or is there something else I should check first before shelling out for the horns? Dealer has them in stock and I could buy and return if not needed is the horns turn out to be ok.
Thanks,
Neil.

Sounds like a relay or wire problem rather than a simultaneous failure, doesn't it?
Returns on electrical parts is usually a no -starter here
I'll post diagram for troubleshooting

Thanks my friend! I'd agree as they said in the notes it is intermittent. That tends to be a red flag to me! The dealer has the part in stock so return is not an issue. As I worked there for a few months when they were short staffed, they usually take back even ordered parts for me, but I have my own rules that if they order the correct part and I don't need it I keep it. That way you don't burn the bridges!
I'll dis-assemble and have he horns available as test samples.
Neil.
