C30 T5: Is this the correct Fuel Pressure Sensor?

Post by Lucidsounds »

Hi,

Can someone please tell me if this FPS will work on my 2007 C30 T5?

Unit is stamped 0261 230 236.

According to Autodoc http://www.autodoc.co.uk/bosch/7004561 this part is indeed compatible. However the observant amongst you will notice the part they supplied me with is black, whereas it should be grey (does black denote non-Turbo?)

However I've also read that the correct number is 0261 230 239.

Confused! :?

Thanks for any assistance.

I think you are correct...check this page out (don't let the model year 2008 throw you- we are one year off on this side of the pond):
https://www.fcpeuro.com/Volvo-parts/C30 ... e%20Sensor
You might could click on the parts to take you to the next page and see photos of the part flipped over for the actual Bosch numbers?

Numbers on the next page for "naturally aspirated" is: OE NUMBERS
31272733, 0261230236

Numbers on the next page for the T5 is: OE NUMBERS
31272732, 0261230238

So, you definitely are correct and I would get them to send you the correct one!!
You can also see what other vehicles the parts fit if you click on "Will This Fit My Car?"

Thanks for the help, I suspected as much. It appears the one they sent is for the naturally aspirated engine. Their webpage even shows a grey one and says the C30 T5 is a suitable vehicle.

I've informed them, but they are refusing to refund despite it being their mistake.

Show them the FCP page. I personally don't know what will happen if you use that sensor in your car. It could be it would work fine but then again, I might not want to find out if I were you. Then again, if you tried it, it would be "used," and certainly you wouldn't be able to get a refund for a used part. Let them know that depending on if they make things right for you, or not will influence you on if you do business with them again and that if they don't play kind with you, you're going to post on all of the car forums for customers to avoid them!!! Also, remind them that the picture is grey but they sent you a black one...you went with the picture on their site, knowing you needed the grey one.

All good advice. I actually said to them, look, I'm quite happy to buy the correct part from you if you'll refund me on this one. Anyway, it's in the hands of Paypal now.

I wanted to replace it as the car is intermittently losing power and coming up with error codes P0193 and P0230. One of those is for the relay, and I know it's not that as I swapped it with the one from my other T5.

So I guess this will be a suitable part: http://www.buycarparts.co.uk/bosch/7003 ... 0woddMYFlA

Thanks again!
