87 740 turbo. What engine?

I just bought an 87 740 turbo, it appears that the engine has been swapped but I'm not sure what out of. I know there's a few different blocks from later to earlier blocks but not sure how to tell the difference from the exterior. I believe it may be out of an 88 or 89. It has a td05 12b turbo on it if that helps, although that may not be the original. The previous owner said the turbo has been replaced but doesn't know much else. Can anyone give me any info on what motor it is or how it figure it out?

Well yes I know that. I mean from which year, and which style of b230ft. Some had the small rods, others had the large rods, etc.

TDO5-12b was used 87-89. Is your 740 a wagon?

I read somewhere that 87-89 Wagons got the TD05-12b. My 1988 760 Turbo wagon had the TD05-12b.
