Windshield wiper blade

Windshield wiper blade

My drivers side wiper blade will not touch the glass when I turn my wipers on to sweep the water, its been that way sinse Ive owned my 850,Ive switched the blades several times,Im going to the JY,how do I take the arm off and with what tools,Im sure its got to be the arm,no amount of maneuveing in any other position has helped,Thanks

This is a super common problem. Replacing the arm may help. To remove the arm, unscrew the one nut that holds it onto the post. While you are in there, make sure the nut is properly tightened right now, that is one of the main causes.

Other solutions are to bend the arm, to replace it with one from an S70, or to grind off the nubs that control the height, see https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=77316

After you remove the nut you have to wiggle the arm until it pops free of the friction joint. If it hasn't been moved since the car left Sweden it might need a soak in loosening oil for an evening.

Thanks man,ya know yyou said make sure the nut is tightened right now,ok may be a typo but whatever,Could it be that mine is not tightened,sucks right now cant go to the JY,no reason orher than its raining yep ) :

Yes, I would check to see if yours tightened right now. That's what I meant.

Grind the nubs!! Did that a month ago. I have been bending and twisting that stinking wiper arm for many years. Could not believe the darn fix was so easy. Have full contact across entire pass of wiper.
