Me again; you guys always give me good advice keeping the Volvo on the road. Recently after a hard stop(maybe a coincidence though) we noticed a weird vibration only when giving it gas above say 40ish that went away if car was just rolling along. Our mechanic we always use diagnosed bad cv on drivers side which we replaced. That didn't fix the problem; they said oops we meant passenger side which we replaced and then issue was gone. Two days later we take it out for maybe a 50 mile last min shopping trip; lots of stop and go. By time we got home it developed what sounds to me like a rubbing sound when first starting to move that's coming from driver side but also goes away once you've built up speed above maybe 10. Also notice the traction control light comes on above 50 and stays on.
They are closed until Monday obviously so I intend to have them look but was curious if anyone could give me pointers on where to start\what may be wrong? Is it possible one of the new axles was defective? Can they be installed wrong?
Much appreciative for any info.

When did this start happening? Before or after the axle replacement?MaulRx wrote:Also notice the traction control light comes on above 50 and stays on.

Thanks for the replys guys. So got to the mechanic bright and early and after an hour of driving it and three opinions they found out that the passenger side cv axle is defective. Some bearing near where it connects to transmission is out of whack. I asked what were the odds of getting a defective one from the store and they were confused too. Maybe they installed it wrong and it broke? It only started doing this after they replaced it and it was fine for first 50-75 miles.
Well I now have to purchase a third axel(can't get a refund until they see the part of course) and pay the mechanics another Hour labor to install.
Edit: Well replacing it seems to have killed the problem. I'm just worried it will happen again. This was less then 60 miles.

This was after they replaced the driver side cv. I haven't got a word on that problem yet.
