2003 S60 Cluster / DIM codes

Good afternoon,
I need help. I am looking to purchase a 2003 S60 2.5 non turbo for my daughter's first car. The problem is that the SRS Urgent light is on. I took to a Volvo mechanic and he printed out the Vidas report which I have attached. Carfax shows no reason for the problem??


Car is a 1 owner with 143,000 miles, real clean and runs good except for the mentioned problem. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction here before I lose the chance to buy the car if the problem can be repaired.

I appreciate any and all help. I have posted to another site and I apologize for doing the same here, but I don't want to miss out. Thanks for the help!

The srs message pops when someone disconnects the radio or the cluster (DIM) without disconnecting first the battery. Don't get fooled by how clean the car looks, these Volvo look shockingly clean, but they still come with plenty of things to check at 140k miles, suspension parts, pcv system, faulty DIM (common issue on 2003), transmission shifting hard 2nd to 3rd, $100 coolant thermostat, exhaust brackets failing to name some of them. Being a non turbo (2.4l engine) look up on youtube about the intake air thermostat issue, important to get good mpg on highway.

You should spend about $300 on a good pre purchase inspection with a Volvo mechanic who has VIDA

Here, those codes need to be cleared, then driven for a week to see what comes back

In NJ you are pretty close to Jim in Northeast PA who sells very clean P2s

Don't fret about " missing a good car in the Northeast". There are tons of Volvos here
