Recurring 313 code with new PNP switch

Post by ducttapeandzipties »

I have a 94 850 GLT.

It began having the flashing arrow and stuck in third problem. I replaced the PNP, cleared the codes and no luck, same symptoms and the code comes right back. I took out the battery again and tried adjusting the switch, no matter which way I turn it, if the transmission is in reverse, the reverse lights are on.

Am I missing something? Should the transmission operate normally after replacing the switch and clearing the code? Or do I need to look deeper for some other problem?

I had this SAME problem with a 99 S70. Went to the junkyard and got a transmission control module with the SAME part #. 10 minutes later the car ran like new again!

Good luck
Dan

Went down and got a junkyard TCU and no luck. Same problem. What else could possibly be wrong? Wiring?

The girl took the car to a shop, they said it was a bad pnp switch. FCP accepted the return and issued refund.

Wondering if taking the fcp one apart would resemble a failed one?

Has anyone posted pictures of the 850 pnp disassembled and the rebuilding process?
