2000 XC70 Dog Wagon pooped on me. Showed Exhaust camshaft position sensor code. Swapped it out, still no go and code reader now says inlet camshaft position sensor !! DAMMIT.......

Chasing my tail here................any previous experiences out there that could help get past go ??

Where is it for instance. Took much searching to get to the exhaust sensor. Motor is B5244T.

They time out about the same so replace both. A good scan tool can show the pickup signal or use any graphing meter or oscilloscope to back probe the signal wire. Get a set from FCP so they are guaranteed for life. I replace them every 100,000 miles.

With key on you should get supply voltage on one wire, ground on another and signal on the third. You will not get a signal if the sensor doesn't have a good ground and supply voltage when in run and crank position

Thanks JD. I have an iCarsoft scanner i906. Is this an insufficient device as it only saw the exhaust sensor first and then the inlet after replacing the ex ?? Bit of a drag having to go back into the same zone so to speak. Also, as to the position of the inlet sensor, I hope to find it mirroring the ex sensor. It's night time and cold, so I'm not visiting it now, but I don't remember seeing it, prolly cos I was looking for the exhaust !!
