I bought a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT sight unseen off Craigslist for $400. The owner told me that he was driving the car one day and it just died and wouldn't start back up. It didn't splutter or anything like that, it just stopped So, he decided to change the fuel pump, filter, and injectors. However, that didn't work. When I got my hands on it, I checked the fuel and fuel lines, all the way up to the injectors and they were all good. The injectors were spraying like they should. I checked for codes and I got codes for the Camshaft and Crankshaft Position Sensors, so I replaced them and that didn't work. I checked for vacuum leaks and there weren't any. I checked the spark and that was good. I cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor, and that didn't work. I checked the compression and it was great on all 5 cylinders. I thought the timing was off so I checked that too and it was also good. All of the wiring in the car is good. The car will crank, but it won't start. Now I need some help on what could possibly be wrong.

Are the injectors spraying? There is a relay at the fan that controls the injectors. If it's bad, it will have fuel pressure but no injector pulse.
You can also try to unplug the MAF and see if it starts.

The injectors are spraying, I'll try unplugging the MAF and see if that works. If it does, what should I try then?

Then you would need a new MAF.

If the MAF was bad wouldn't a code come up? I checked the codes and I didn't get any for the MAF.

That's a good point. A bad MAF will give a code usually, but not always.
Unplug it before you start it up, then start it up. If the symptoms go away then for sure you have found the problem. And it is free to test! Also test the MAF connector, those are known to get flaky, just an unplug/replug could fix it.

Alright I'll try it. I'll have to wait a few days because I stepped on one of the spark plugs and broke it so I bought 5 new ones off eBay. If the MAF sensor isn't the problem what should I try next?

What kind of plugs did you get? These cars are picky about plugs. They plugs won't stop it from starting of course, but it may not run great on some of them.
Nothing obvious comes to mind to try next ... This wouldn't explain why it died in the first place but are you sure the plug wires are in the right order? Worth checking. How is the rotor, and the cap and on the inside? The rotor has a little chip inside it, it can fail and give no-start but I think the plugs don't get spark in that case, not sure. Do you know if the car has an immobilizer/alarm?

I bought some Bosch original equipment spark plugs. I checked and the plugs are in the right order. I'll take a look at the rotor and cap but I don't know how it is supposed to look. I assume that they're fine because the car gets plenty of spark. The car does not have any sort of alarm. I was looking at a few other forums and they were saying that the fuel pressure regulator may be bad. How do I check that?
