Motor swap 2000 v70 n.a.

I am looking to swap out the motor in my 2000 v70 non turbo. How can I find the I.d. or serial number for the motor or should I just go by the VIN number when looking for a motor?

The motor number (Model and Serial) is on a sticker on the timing belt cover. The VIN will also tell you which engine it should be with the two numbers immediately following YV1LW.

Should be a B5244S with CVVT on intake cam. I wish I could ship my excellent 2000 V70 engine to you if we were closer. At the moment I can't even GIVE my car away because of the interior's condition.

If you can't find the sticker on the timing belt cover the actual stamp is on the block facing upward near exhaust port 1 behind the water pump. A digital camera poked down there with a flash can usually capture it.

Shipping from AUS to BOS might crimp those plans,..

FELD...if you find a motor somewhere from Detroit and DC northeast corner, I can get it to you in Boston on a handshake via flatbed.
