Should have added more to this.

Ok to drain if you have municipal system. If you have a septic system or sand filter you don't want to put EG into it.

Finished my coolant flush and got a new thermostat in today. There's still a little green tint to the bottle from my old Peak universal stuff, but that's probably just the little bit that was left from the heater core and block that I didn't completely flush. The system mostly has G-05 now.
The last owner's "mechanic" had RTV'd the t-stat housing together like he did with everything else on that car. Just like the port on the block for the turbo oil return, so that was a joy to clean off. What a moron...

After 2 years of sitting and 1 tornado last year, I put a new battery in and she started right up! Horrible lifter tick but that went away after a few miles. I drove her to a friend's house where she will remain until I finish school. I had zero codes the whole way there. It was cold and rainy. Without a windshield it was like little ice bullets hitting my face. But it was all worth it. Listened to the radio the whole drive. You gotta love the 5 cylinder volvo engine.

Changed the oil at 156,000 miles. My change interval was 7500 for 10W40 synthetic and I think that was too long. The oil was thick and dark like syrup. Will go back to 6000 miles for the next change and see how that goes.

Started the long project part list to bring the car back up to a good running car. Scary how quickly the parts list adds up!

A few days ago I added some bling to my XC and installed an R instrument cluster and stainless steel trim rings.
Fortunately I knew the mileage of the new cluster and I only had to wait 2000 miles for them to match up. The seller was so nice and posted a photo of the cluster lit up before he took it out of the car.

So true, and you have to factor in some extra cost, because the list never ends where you think it does.
