So I bought a V70 2.4 non turbo as a run around whilst my Seat Cupra DSG mechatronic unit was sent off for repair. It had a couple of problems that I fixed, thermostat, a few bulbs ect. but now Ive run into a problem that I think may be the ETM any advice would be appreciated.
Just for reference here I changed the CAM BELT just after I bought the car as it was on 95k miles, I checked the timing many many many times whilst doing it and it started up and ran fine, I know it (Hopefully) cant be connected to my problem unless I'm missing something but worth mentioning.
So im driving along everything is fine about 20mins into a drive just after pulling away from a junction the throttle sort of sticks (It may be a limp mode of some kind) so I pulled over and put the car in neutral the revs flux from 1-3k and no response from the throttle, turn the car off wait 10secs or so restart the car and its fine again..... strange
I noticed the engine wasnt warming up as quickly as it should so I changed the thermostat (Good call it was stuck 60% open) and I removed and cleaned the Throttle body after hearing of the problems. Took it for a test drive now the car warms up much faster however the same thing happend about 5-10 mins in to driving this time, it reset but happened about 2mins after again. Im getting the following fault codes when reading it through torque pro.
P0032- O2 sensor (However when I cleared the codes this reset and didnt come back until the fault happened when driving, so I think the sensor is actually okay)
P0123- Throttle/Pedal Position sensor/Switch A curcit high input
P1610 - throttle unit internal fault; signal too high
P1651 - control module internal fault; faulty signal
Now I am taking it that these are ETM fault codes, I am an engineer and can't believe I am asking this but It can't be related to the timing could it, it doesn't make sense in my head for it to as it would run horribly (or not at all) and wouldn't drive for 20mins or so and then throw a wobbly thought it worth asking as I noticed a VVT pully on when I was changing the belt
Any help much appreciated - Oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR
