TPMS diagnostic trick?

Hi, I have a " TIRE PRESS SYST SERVICE REQUIRED" error message on a 2009 S40. I also have a 2006 S40 with no TPMS errors, so I was wondering if I could take one of the 2006 wheels off, and try one wheel from the fault-giving 2009 at a time on the 2006 to see which of the sensors from the 2009 is bad?

I also have the VIDA software if that could potentially help me clear the code or get to the bottom of which sensor is bad or needs reprogramming, but thus far I haven't been able to solve the problem with it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

As my car does not have TPMS, I really can't answer you on this one. You might just try calling the dealer. If they are nice enough they should let you know if the 2 car's systems are interchangeable or not. I wouldn't tell them you're trying to DIY or they may withhold info from you and try to get you go come in.

My 2006 V50 does not have a TPMS, so there are no error messages. I assume your 2006 is the same. For the newer car, I'd see if VIDA was more specific.
