The name "easybuying168" on ebay has been mentioned before. I received mine from this buyer yesterday. The software I received is corrupt and files will not extract. Communication with the buyer has not been easy and I have yet to receive a fix for this problem. Thought this may help and I'll try to update if I get this working.

I have recently rebuilt a few laptops, running XP Pro, and installed all the drivers and software to run VIDA 2012A.

It's tested, works like a charm, and I'm selling the laptops for $175 each, shipped anywhere in the CONUS.

All you'd need then, is a DICE unit (Amazon I believe.)

Each laptop comes with a brand new battery (so you can go mobile with VIDA and get live readings), at least 3GB of ram, the AC adapter, and fully guaranteed to work great. The VIDA software has been tested on my Volvo, and DICE drivers are all installed and ready for you to plug-in and blow your mind at everything VIDA can do for you.

My e-mail is "DavidRLeach<AT>gmail.com".... hit me up if you're interested. I try and check messages on here, but i'm not on here as much as I'd like. E-mail is easier.

Arrived super fast only 7 days.
Installation no problems just plug and play, very clear instructions.
Board looks good quality. Tested on several volvos everything works as expected.

Let you know if notice any issues.
The ad says it works on XP, but others offering the 2014D version usually specify Win7 - what version are you successfully running it on?

Thanks!

2012 and 2014 versions only differ in that 2012 runs best on Windows XP, 2014 runs on Win7 (2014 won't run on XP.)

2012, on a dedicated laptop, will do A LOT for you. And a dedicated laptop, running XP Pro, is a low-cost machine to build (assuming you have the know-how and access to the software.)

Damn, wish you would have posted a week ago, before I bought a laptop. Now I'm stuck pulling my hair out trying to get Vida to work

Is there a download link for VIDA 2014D? I bought a DICE unit on amazon and the software is corrupt (disc wont ready in a windows 7 pro laptop or my W10 desktop). From what another poster said, they seem to have had similar issues.

The other poster may be me Lol. Good luck. I was up all night last night trying to find it. Found a torrent site (not too familiar with torrents) but I think I got a virus. If you find something please share. If I don't find anything by Monday I'm shipping this dice back to the seller. My seller has been no help.
If you want to run it on a virtual machine there is a guy on ebay 1moretech that sells a s/w setup for 40.00.

FYI, one experience -- I just got a computer with VIDA loaded, from Dave Leach above, (TacklaNHL). Very pleased, got it going right away. Had a little problem where I did something wrong, and Dave followed up quickly and got me figured out. Highly recommended! Plug and Play baby! Also got my DICE unit from computer_psycho on eBay. More expensive, but he gave me two softwares, the newest and one which would run on XP Pro, (which I didn't need after all since I bought computer from Dave). Dice was all tested, delivered very quickly, he answered several questions well and quickly, and is in the USA! Also highly recommended. Now my Volvo is a happy camper!
I actually bought two other DICE units first, one from Hong Kong and one from China, both cheap, both never delivered, didn't lose any $$ though just time and hassle.

So having read lots of different sites and forums about the VIDA\DICE purchase and use, I am left wondering if it is possible to purchase an "authentic" DICE unit somewhere other than the dealer tool link on the http://volvotechinfo.com site? I have found some other J2534-2 compatible scanners\programmers that look similar to the DiCE unit at roughly 60% of the cost. Are those completely compatible with both the VIDA 2014D and earlier as well as the web version VIDA 2015 and later? The mechanic I have been using for years doesn't think it makes sense to get the "real" DiCE and the VIDA subscriptions for just a couple of local Volvos. The closest dealer charges about $140 just to pull the codes for a check engine light. I would obviously love to have the full, authentic, Dice kit that the dealers have, but I'll settle for buying a less expensive alternative that Volvo doesn't see at "pirated". Does anyone have any experience using a legit J2534-2 compatible device with the VIDA software and subscriptions?

Also, one comment about the "corrupted DVDs". Do those people that are having issues with the DVDs have Dual Layer DVD players? From the posted pics in numerous adds, the DVDs appear to be DVD-R DL 8.5GB (DL = Double Layer). A DL DVD cannot be read by older single layer players. Unfortunately it doesn't appear that the sellers note that as a requirement.

Thanks.

Ian.
