Wow! Thanks for all of the prayers and good wishes guys. I'm out and back at it. lol

mWhen they told me about my problem, My first start was "Dang, I'm to young for a pacemaker". Then I watched a few videos seeking a fix for this problem (I like seeing things fixed). Bottom line, medication is probably the best thing for me. So, they kept me in long enough to get meds stabilized. I'm taking Diltiazam. One a day, probably for the rest of my life.

As soon as they checked my pulse/heart rate, they knew what the problem was. The nurse knew. So yesterday I went and purchased a FitBit Charge 2 because it can monitor my pulse rate. At my age and health, my sitting (static idle) rate should be around 90 bpm. It was quickly fluctuating between 105 and 135, going up as high as 155. Again, thanks for the post, it's important to take care of ourselves as well.

Without Robert I think half of us would be elbows-deep in an engine bay at this very moment.

Robert, sorry to hear about your troubles. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

My father has struggled with this afib stuff for years, he's had some scares and even a few surgeries. He had an ablation last year and with diet changes and medication he seems to be putting the issue behind him. He will turn 67 in Feb. If you'd like to speak with him and get a fellow patient's advice at some point in the next couple of weeks, PM or text me and I'll get you in touch with him. I'm sure you have good doctors there, but sometimes talking with someone who has also been through it can help. Sort of like what you do with the volvos... take care and rest easy.
