1992 240 wagon need more radio info

Post by macinjoshdotcom »

Hiya,

I found this article here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... php?t=2557

It's good info for where the speaker wires are, but I'm actually looking to just replace my amp. Anyone have a wiring diagram for the line outs from the preamp to the amp? I'd like to keep the tape deck.

The poster also mentions wire harnesses to adapt an aftermarket stereo, but I've been unable to find any. Crutchfield says they don't exist. If I could just find that, and bypass my amp (which i think is faulty), that would work for me too. but I can do it cheaper if I just stick an amp from the auto parts store in there, assuming I can wire it.

Will this help?

Depending on the model of Volvo radio you are replacing you may get the leads from one of these two sellers on eBayUK:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Thompsons-LTD

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/KSH-AUDIO-LTD

They both ship worldwide.

That kinda helps. I mean, it shows me what's what, but I can't understand how it works.

I'm looking for a conventional preamp/amp relationship here that I don't see. I see a radio, and I see two GND wires from that radio connecting to an amp, power to the amp, and speakers out from the amp.

I don't see where the line level audio signal is, the source that is being amplified. Help?
