Transmission problem

Transmission problem

My 2006 Volvo S80- engine is solid and never had a problem. Filled up with Yesterday. Today I started the car made it a half mile and the care seemed to go into safe mode. Then the transmission disengaged and the car would not move into any gear. There are no
Lights on the dash. If in remove the key, set it to position 2 for 30
Seconds and start the car I can drive it for an additional mile or so before the issue repeats.
Any advice of where to start would be appreciated.

My Friend, I can't say much for 06 S80's because I am not to familiar with anything above 2004. However if you have a GM 4t65e transmission in that car, you need either a rebuild or re manufactured transmission-sorry I feel your pain. I would first take it to a transmission shop and have them do a software diagnostic. If it's a bad transmission and you want it fixed, have them order a re-manufactured one. Rebuilds, and trust me when I tell you this, are not worth it. Longer life as well as warranty with re-man.
