power steering fluid in a 2005 S40

Post by micah »

A question about power steering fluid in a 2005 S40, 130,000 +Mi.
The manual states use genuine Volvo Power Steering fluid. The condenses after reviewing several web pages is split between Genuine Volvo 30741424, Power Steering Fluid and Pentosin CHF 11S Synthetic Hydraulic Fluid. The difference seems to be price. What has been your experience? What have you used? Where did you purchase it? Thanks

Both are fine- I have not replaced mine yet (at about 75,000 miles now)... On our V70 I have used both Volvo's and Pentosin...can't tell the difference at all.
