95 850 auto A/C drain Plugged?
95 850 auto A/C drain Plugged?
I can hear fluid sloshing around somewhere under the dash and I get an occasional drip onto the passengers feet. I was told it probably is an A/C drain line being plugged so the condensation is building up. If this is the case - can someone tell me how to clear the plugged line. Thanx/Rich
It really appears to be a clogged drain. Remove the cover under dash at passenger side. You will see a black rubber pipe running from the bottom of the A/C white housing to the top of the center tunnel.
Before proceeding make sure you have some rags and a plastic container to collect the accumulated water. Before removing the rubber hose, squeeze it several times in different places along its lenght. If it is a small glog, chances are you will dislodge the clogging and the water will drain out under the car. After that, remove the hose and clean it internally. Also, using a flexible wire, clean out the nipple at the evaporator housing where the hose attaches to. Put everything back, paying attention to the attachment points close to the firewall.
Good Luck!

I have a '97 850 which just had the same problem. I just joined this forum after finding this and my first comment is:icelandic wrote:It really appears to be a clogged drain. THANKS Icelandic! Your solution worked like a champ! When I squeezed the rubber hose by the evaporator nipple, I heard this semi-flood water like sound draining out through the hose to the ground under the car. The water proceeded down the driveway and pooled in a gutter. It was only a matter of time, it would have entered my vehicle. Whew. I could have drowned
I followed the rest of your instructions and removed a tree seed from the top of the rubber tube. I imagine this was the source of the problem.
Again, thanks for the excellent post.
