Q for those in the know about wheels

Post by MadeInJapan »

Wanting to replace the donut spare in my son's '07 S60 2.5T that is currently using 17" tires... Wheel on there is the Tucana 17x7.5.
My question is, if I go steel wheel route, will this wheel work?

I found this regarding fitment:
https://www.wheel-size.com/size/volvo/S60/2007/

Thanks for your input. I'm concerned about off-set as well as bore diameter. I know the lugs will center it up but will there be to much play that I should have a hub-centric ring, and if so, is there one this size? Plus, I'd hate to have to deal with some other contraption other than just unbolting and bolting on a tire in the case of a flat. The other thing is, his current wheels have pressure sensors in them. Is a spare on his car going to cause the S60 to scream at him to where driving it will be problematic? I'm especially thinking of a scenario of driving the car home from a long trip on a weekend where you can't get a tire repaired. This happened to me several years ago and I have since replaced all of our other Volvo's spares with real size tires.

Not an A but even if the offset clears the caliper I won't be taking a chance. Sometimes it's the lug hole in the wheel that doesn't have the correct angle and the lugs won't tighten properly. Best choice is a Volvo wheel from the scrap yard.

Thanks orangex- the verdict is still out. I'd like to either get confirmation from someone who has used this or not. Either way though, you're probably right! I didn't even think of whether or not it would clear the calipers. Even if it might clear in the back, there's no guarantee it will in the front.

The offset is stamped inside your actual wheels, at the very last I'd start from there, normally looking for same or smaller number
