It looks like a Blaupunkt. I like how these Blaupunkt radios look in these cars... much nicer than most aftermarket radios.

Welp, car is in shop now to be fixed. HOWEVER, the girl's insurance wants me to send them the title so they can make it a salvage title in order to get my check. I don't want this at all and they say they will not pay me until I send them the title so they can report it as a salvage, total loss, then after they do that I have to have the car inspected to make sure it is roadworthy and safe to drive. WHAT?!!?!?!?!?!?! Just send me a check! Any advice?

Never heard of that but every state is different. Do not send title of course.

No, do NOT send them the title. They shouldn't need the title to make it "salvage" anyway. Keep fighting with them... there is no reason that car should have a salvage title.

So, did you source replacement parts, or has the shop given you a plan of action? are you still looking at $3k ?
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Car is at body shop now, my body shop quoted me a lot less than the guys they wanted me to use, they are sending the check and closing it out, it is on me to report that the car was a total loss but I'm not going to do that. All is well.
