As above, Aisin is trustworthy. Too many stories with more or less known aftermarket wp brands failing in no time

Hm, I put in a new SKF water pump about a year ago. Now I wonder if maybe Aisin would have been a better choice.

Any experience with SKF pumps anyone?

It is doing fine, though, up to now.

I have it on my car.
'97 850 2.5 20v / fully equipped / Motronic 4.4 from the factory / upgraded with S,V,C,XC70 instrument cluster / polar white wagon

I think you're good with a more reputable brand in the Volvo world like SKF, Aisin, or Hepu. I would probably stay away from cheaper brands like Gates or the cheapest WPs available at good ol' Rockauto. Not sure how I feel about the Gates WP being in my cousin's S70.

SKF is premium brand and have premium quality products.Oem for most quality car makes.

What does the SKF look like?

I've seen Hepu's fail in 850's in less than 40,000 miles. Last forever on red blocks.

I removed a GMB from my car with 35,000 miles on it and it still felt solid (purchased from AutoZone when I had an water pump failure while on the road after normal business hours). Pulled it to install a Aisin.

I feel bad for anyone who buys one of those... I feel bad that they weren't properly informed on brands to avoid like the plague. On such a vital part, I wouldn't even think about Uro.
