1998-2000 Liftgate Lock Issue

Howdy, I'm a long time lurker, first time poster.

My 2000 V70R started to have a rear liftgate lock issue. It will not shut and latch at all. I removed the locking mechanism, and I believe something is broken. I cannot get the fingers to actually latch at all, even with a screwdriver. I assume the next step is to just replace it. I am including a video to see if this seems like the correct next step.

I had similar issues, the only way I fixed mine was to buy a used latch for a 2001-2004 xc70 and switch out the electronics. My 98 XC70 was so bad I had removed the door cover and ratchet strapped it closed, when my 98 AWD started acting up (had to slam door shut 3 to 10 times to get to latch) I replaced the latch in that and have been good for 2 years and counting

I found a replacement mechanism on eBay for $55 with a 30-day warranty, so hopefully that will fix things. I just put my other car in the shop yesterday for paint correction and protection, and then this happens. Great timing! Hopefully I get this fixed by Saturday, I'm just waiting for the part to arrive at this point. I get the RS back tomorrow night, so at least I'll be able to get around then.
