Removing front (dash) speakers.

Post by rguzz »

Haven't tried hard, I admit, but popped the grill off, don't want to break anything, saw a couple of plastic round button like fasteners. How does the speaker pop out?

I think there are little pop-rivet type fasteners holding the speakers on. Use a pick to pop up the center of the rivet and pull it out, and you should be able to remove the speaker.
I think RobertDIY shows how to remove it in his dash removal video.

I just removed the dash speakers in my 850 not too long ago. The center of the button fastener pushes in. Once all 4 fasteners are pushed in, the speaker can come out. To 'reset' the fastener, push on the back side of the button so it's protruding from the button. Reinstall the speaker, push the button through the hole - then push the nub back flush with the button.
